Three people were arrested in the Juarez murders this week.  (News from Amigos de las Mujeres de Juarez)

Edgar Ãlvarez Cruz was arrested in Denver, CO Tuesday by U.S. Marshals and brought to El Paso for questioning in at least 10 cases. Also charged were two other men, Alejandro Delgado Valles alias El Calá, and Jose Francisco Granados. Both appear to have been arrested in the U.S. All seem to be charged with immigration violations here and are being held in El Paso while they are being questioned by authorities from the Chihuahua state police. Two months ago, the Mexican federal government turned these cases back over to the state, saying they had not made any progress. The U.S. Marshal’s officers seem to have been involved in locating the suspects once they were identified by the office of the Procuraduría in Chihuahua.

We certainly hope that this time, that there is sufficient evidence to lay to rest any doubts that those arrested are indeed guilty. We urge Patricia Gonzalez, the current Procuradora of Chihuahua to conduct an open and transparent trial.
