INVITATION
Family members of the young girls and women who were assassinated or disappeared from Cuidad Juárez and Chihuahua extend an invitation to organizations and society in general to a silent protest directed to the three levels of government. Until today, there continue to be cases of children and women, disappeared and assassinated and there still has been no justice for the cases which have been pending since 1991. The authorities have continued to trample on the human rights of the victims and their families and there continue to be irregularities in what little investigation that has been done.
To those families that are not participating in this protest, we hope you can join us on the first day of the protest. We hope that this action will be a tie between family members that share the same sadness and hope for justice.
GENERAL DETAILS OF THE PROTEST
Families of the disappeared and assassinated women and children of Juarez and Chihuahua will meet in front of the Fiscalía Mixta Para la Atención de Delitos Contra Mujeres. There will be a circular march in front of the building that will last for one hour. This circle will be only for the family members of the victims. Civil society will be invited to join the protest at special times. These protests will take place each first Thursday of each month and will be for an indefinite time, starting July 5, 2007.
Demands:
1. We demand the return of the women and children who disappeared in Juárez and Chihuahua and the implementation of actions to prevent new disappearances.
2. We demand the arrest of the real murderers of each of the women and children victims in these cities.
3. We demand annual meetings with the families of the victims and the disappeared with the President of the Republic.
4. We demand regular meetings between the family members and with the highest levels of the government at the local, state and federal levels.
The protest will be supported by local, national and international organizations for which we offer our thanks for their support in this cause.
With this action, we also join with the struggle of families with similar cases in other cities or countries.
