Follow the blog covering the spiritual journey of American Thomas Easton who travelled to Ciudad Juarez to deliver flag containing over 400 hand-sewn crosses with prayers.
This is a call for anybody who has personally been involved in constructing an altar for the women who have fallen victim to the atrocities in Juarez. If you have constructed such an altar and would like to assist an Anthropology student with her research please read on.
Hello,
My name is Joanna Diaz, I am an Anthropology student who is interested in researching the present day significance of the interconnectedness of femicide and the traditional holiday: Dia de los Muertos.
I am currently conducting a survey on the motivations and contemporary significance of Day of the Dead altars for the victims of the femicide in Juarez. My goal is to survey those who have personally been involved in constructing an altar for the women who have fallen victim to the atrocities in Juarez.
If you relate to the demographic I am attempting to reach, please take a few short minutes to complete my survey.
If you feel that you can contribute more to my project through providing interviews, photographs or even networking opportunities, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Joanna Diaz
